TEPD Scholarships 2008-2009 TEPD Scholarship Recipients
Each academic year the Department of Teacher Education & Professional Development is able to offer a number of scholarships to students admitted to teacher education. In early February, criteria for eligibility and selection, instructions, and application materials are posted on this website. Awards are made for the following academic year.
A TEPD faculty committee reviews the applications and sends recipient recommendations to the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid reviews the recommendations to verify eligibility. Recipients are then informed by letter of their awards by the end of spring semester. A recipient list is also posted on this website.
We encourage students to place a check next to each scholarship for which they feel they are eligible on the "Check List".
In order to prepare application materials correctly, students should first read the Criteria for Scholarships thoroughly, this list describes the criteria and eligibility requirements for each scholarship. Then read the *Instructions for the Application Packet* and finally, download and complete the Application and the Check List.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO DOWNLOAD THE FORMS TO A PERSONAL STORAGE DEVICE. DO NOT FILL THE FORMS OUT WHILE ON LINE. Your personal information might be available for others to see if you save it to a computer in a lab. Use the copies you have saved on a storage device to complete your forms.
Please note that Mac computers which use 'Preview' as a PDF reader instead of Acrobat Reader will not be able to open the application form and checklist in PDF format. The Mac computers in the Dow Lab (Ronan 111) use 'Preview' but those in the Ameritech Lab in the Instructional Materials Center (Ronan 109) do not and you will be able to view PDF files on those. Windows based computers with Acrobat Reader installed will work correctly. If you need to download Acrobat Reader for Windows or Mac platforms, go to http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html and download the program. It is free!
