March 12, 2008 - I rode with Joyce to the International School and picked up Bernadette’s car.  I drove to St. Thomas along a different route and was able to avoid 90% of the normal traffic.  It is fun getting to know the city and to be able to pick alternative routes instead of having to go the only way you know.  Beth’s lesson today was to show a video of the book they are reading, and then she had some free time. Dan was finishing up standardized tests with his group and Alexis had her students pondering “What is life?”  All three are working into taking over instruction but have been hampered by the end of term activities and this week of standardized testing.  All of their supervising teachers seem to thing they are doing very well and have been impressed with their abilities to learn names and their willingness to help individual students.

I took Beth to get her phone fixed and to exchange some money since she has not received her new Visa card yet from the states.  I also gave her the map that the St. Thomas group wanted.

Kind of an uneventful day.  Had to make a down-payment for one of the resorts where we will be staying this weekend.  I was home today by 4 pm.
