March 11, 2008 - Arrived at the International school at 7am and talked with the student teachers at the school about their teaching schedule.  All are just getting started.  I drove Bernadette’s car to the Dominica Americano and talked with Kelly, her supervising teacher Daisy Castello and the school director.  All are happy with Kelly’s progress.  This is their exam week so little actual instruction is going on.  Kelly seems happy.  I am still working on afternoon transportation for her.  She is happy walking  and gets occasional rides from teachers at the school.

I also visited Kristin and Jeffrey at St. Michaels.  They are in the middle of Spirit Week.  Which is kind of a celebration of the end of term.  Classes wear certain colors.  There is all kinds of competitions.  It seems like a lot of fun and really seems to build a sense of common purpose with the students.  It was loud!  Photo of St. Michaels with some of the colorful displays on the building.

I bought maps for each house so they can orient themselves better.  I worked today to develop seminar materials for Thursday, answered lots of e-mails and shopped for some groceries.
