Scholarship Instructions
Scholarship recipients are required to maintain full-time enrollment during the academic year of the scholarship award. Scholarship recipients for 2009-2010 will receive half of their awards in Fall 2009 and the other half in Spring 2010. However, in the case of a student who will be student teaching in the fall and graduating in December, the full amount of the scholarship may be applied to the fall semester (depending on scholarship criteria). Instructions for applicant’s student teaching in the fall are included in 'notification of award' letters sent to all recipients.
Scholarship recipients will be notified by mail of their awards. A list of recipients will be posted on this website before the end of Spring Semester 2009. Actual award amounts will be listed on tuition bills.
Completing Application Packets
The application packet consists of a two-page back-to-back application, a check list, and any required letters of recommendation or personal statements (see Criteria for Scholarships). If you are using a computer in a lab on campus, please do not save your form to that computer's hard drive because your personal information will remain on that computer for others to view.
Please remember that the total application form must not exceed 1 page back-to-back and cannot be handwritten.
You will need to turn in 4 application packets (1 checklist, 1 application, and 1 copy of any required statements or recommendations equal 1 packet). When preparing your 4 application packets put the check list on top followed by the application and then place any required attachments on the bottom. Staple each packet. Remember that the application form must be printed back to back. Applications printed on 2 separate sheets of paper will not be accepted and applications that exceed the page requirement will not be considered. Don't forget to sign and date each of the four application forms.
Completed packets should be brought to the TEPD Office, 208 Ronan Hall. Application packets received after March 16, 2009 at 4:00 pm will not be considered.
If you would like more information about the scholarships, the requirements, or have questions about the application process, please contact Lori Moon in Ronan 208 at 989-774-4410 or moon1l@cmich.edu.
